If you need a fun and delicious snack or holiday appetizer to serve or bring to pass at your next event, cranberry caramel treats are a great option.
They’re simple to put together at the last minute, and they taste like a caramel apple!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Cranberries
- Caramel dip
- Peanuts, crushed
- Other toppings, as desired
- Toothpicks
Step 1
Pick up a bag of cranberries. This is a great treat for a Thanksgiving holiday appetizer, especially if you have some extra cranberries leftover from making your cranberry sauce!
Wash the cranberries and pat them dry. Put them in a bowl or serving dish.
Step 2
Get a tub of caramel dip. You could make your own if you want, but I just buy the premade Marzetti’s brand at the grocery store (these come in larger and individual sized containers… just sayin’ 😉).
You can put out the container as is or scoop it into a dish if you want to be fancier. Or pretend like you made it yourself; I won’t tell.
Step 3
Some people like just the cranberries and caramel, but the toppings is where I get most excited!
Decide what you want to include. You can be as creative as you like–think about what you’d put on a caramel apple.
Crushed cocktail peanuts are a favorite of mine. There are lots of other options, though, especially if you can’t or don’t want to use nuts.
Here are some other ideas:
- Sprinkles
- Coconut
- Mini candies
- Crushed Oreos
- Mini chocolate chips
Put each topping into a separate dish so guests can choose and create their own treat.
Step 4
Serve and enjoy! Set out all of your toppings with the cranberries and caramel and let your guests stab a cranberry with a toothpick, roll it in the caramel dip, and add the toppings of their choice!
In a small crowd, you can tell your guests what to do, or you can create a fun holiday-themed sign if you like.
Make sure you enjoy these right away–they don’t last long in a crowd!
