Baby it’s not as cold as it sure could be outside these days. If you’re in the mood to venture out for some holiday fun, we’ve got you covered with our December date night ideas!
A Night Out: Dinner and a Show
With Christmas shopping done and the hit taken to our bank account, we weren’t looking to spend a lot for date night. However, we did want to go out and experience some holiday fun.
We started our evening with the best pizza place in town, Jake’s Pizza! It takes about 45 minutes, but it is sooo worth the wait! We just planned to get there early and sip old fashioneds. 😉
After dinner, we sped down the street to Cup o’ Joy to see Cloverton. The $14 early bird tickets for an evening of live Christmas music was an easy sell. And if you haven’t heard Cloverton’s “Hallelujah,” this is a must-add for your Christmas playlist!
After the concert, we went to the Titletown Plaza to catch the light show as part of the Winter Jubilee events. We ended up missing it by a few minutes but still enjoyed a quick stroll through the beautifully decorated grounds. We plan to return for more fun later this winter!
A Night Out, Round 2: WPS Garden of Lights
There are so many fun events happening around the holidays! Rather than staying in, we decided to spend another night out at the WPS Garden of Lights. This takes place on the grounds of the Green Bay Botanical Garden.
We arrived at 7pm, navigated the traffic and parked, hopped on the shuttle, and headed over to the garden. This event attracts a large crowd, so the shuttle made the logistics of parking and getting inside easy.
Unfortunately, we didn’t purchase tickets ahead of time, so we had to stand in line. This only took us about 10 minutes, or so.
We paid the $10 adult admission for the walking tour. This allowed us to wander through the various themed light displays (some synchronized to music!) at our own pace.
The twinkling lights and balmy 37 degrees made for a magical walk through the gardens. It was a great choice for date night!
What could be better in this warmer-than-normal winter weather than strolling through the lights, listening to Christmas music, and sipping hot chocolate? Oh, right! Spending time with your date! =)
The Garden of Lights is open now until December 30, and we strongly recommend you make a point to experience it. Check out all the info on their website.
If you have attended the Garden of Lights or created your own December date night, we’d love to hear about it in the comments!
