There’s one word to describe the weather these days: RAINY. Where are the crisp fall days with sunshine and a light breeze? I do live in Wisconsin, so I know that if I blink I might miss this season, so I’m trying to hold on to whatever I can by coming up with some fall decorating ideas.
It’s hard to enjoy sloshing through an apple orchard or mucking along a trail to see the changing leaves, though. Heck, it’s hard to know what clothes to wear when one day is 45 degrees and the next is 75. The only stable accessory in my life right now is my umbrella.
Well, I’m saying to heck with this weather and trying to bring fall inside by freshening up my fall decorations!
This pumpkin wine glass was fun and easy to make. I did this as part of a class, but it would be simple to do on your own, too. It’s a great addition to our wine collection, recently added to by our trip to Door County.
I’m loving this new fall centerpiece. The wooden box is actually meant to be a planter, but I decided to remove the plant trays and insert mason jars instead.
To make this fall-themed, all I did was pick out a bunch of fall picks and toss them around in the jars until I liked how they looked. How simple this will be to pop out the picks and replace them with Christmas ones!
I usually take down a picture in a central location in our kitchen/living area and replace it with a holiday-themed picture. I have been wanting something for fall to do the same with, and I just happened across this “Thankful” sign at the craft store the other day.
It took me about the duration of a Packer game to paint this up, including time to paint over version 1 because the color was yuck and to gripe about the game.
One of my favorite fall decorating ideas–fall wreaths! This is a great craft for getting a group together for a girls’ night!
To make mine, I started with a wire wreath frame and some burlap ribbon. I tied the burlap ribbon and wove it between the wires around the entire wreath. Then I repeated this step with my accent colors. I used a pin included below to get started. Once I had the basic shape of the wreath, I glued a ribbon together. I had to improvise and piece it together because I can’t tie pretty bows. I attached the bow and a fall pick and voila!
Check out my other fall pins for future projects I want to try!
