It’s been a long time since we’ve posted anything (yikes–since February!). So where the heck have we been?
Here are the highlights!
We Bought a House
This process began in late February. We battled the crazy housing market in our area and found our perfect-for-us home and moved in early June. More to come on some of our experiences and recommendations!
We’ve been unpacking and organizing. Running to the hardware store every weekend. Caring about things we never thought we’d care about. (I mean, radon? Window well covers? Come on.) And basically just trying to enjoy a little slice of domestic bliss between all the boxes and weekends away.
We Moved Out of Our Apartment
This goes without saying, considering we bought a house. The move from our apartment was just too bittersweet to leave out. This was our first little place together as a couple. We spent the last five years making lots of happy memories.
It was tougher than I thought it would be to see our empty apartment and walk away for the last time after five years of happy memories. But there’s so much more to come and a house to make our home!
We Camped… and I mean, we CAMPED
Like every weekend.
With the weather in Wisconsin, there’s a short window of time where you can go camping (and enjoy it). We didn’t get out as much as we had wanted to last year, so we made a point to plan more camping trips this year, and boy did we ever.
Some of our favorite locations this year were:
- Jordan Park in Stevens Point
- Governor Thompson State Park
- Goodman Park Campground in Marinette County
Now, we’re definitely ready to enjoy our couch and a fire we can turn on with the flip of a switch.
We Celebrated Two Years of Marriage!
Our second anniversary was on June 16. We had closed on the house the week before, so we didn’t do much to celebrate the day of, or even the month of.
The traditional second anniversary gift is cotton, and in our attempt at keeping our little tradition going, we planned a fun cotton-themed way to celebrate. More details to come!
We Enjoyed Summer
We spent time outside. Attended gatherings and picnics and weddings. Spent time with family and friends. Attempted to get our money’s worth out of bike trail passes (there’s more biking weather left, right?). Ate ice cream.
We soaked up all the sun and fun we possibly could.
Now, on to fall!
